Animal Adoption Services
For low-income individuals and families, we offer a program to subsidize adoption costs. This can reduce or even eliminate the burden of adopting. By lowering barriers, we can provide more loving homes for animals. Select the Sharon Blaskovits grant in your general application so we can help verify eligibility!
Spay and Neuter Grants
There are several options for spay and neuter assistance!
- County & Humane Society Funding: Each year, county animal control and Humane Society programs receive funding for spay/neuter vouchers. We use this support to spay and neuter our own animals, but we also extend it to help seniors and disabled residents when possible. For example, in some counties, this assistance prevents families from facing eviction due to pet ownership requirements.
- Community & Stray Cats: Through SNIPWV, community and stray cat spay/neuter services are always free. In Harrison County, residents can make an appointment at Clarksburg Animal Hospital or directly through SNIP to access this service at no cost.
Support Assistance
We believe no animal should ever be denied care because of cost. Through the Sharon Blaskovits grant, we help subsidize medical bills and offer fee reductions so pets and their families can receive the care they need. Whether it’s routine care or urgent medical needs, we work with each family to make sure animals stay healthy, safe, and in loving homes.

Can I turn in a stray to Pupsavers?
Unfortunately, due to ordinances established in most West Virginia counties, strays must be taken in by a county animal control prior to a rescue or human society being allowed to take them in. If you have a stray, you should surrender it to your local animal control – and then reach out to the rescue or humane society.
